Pools are a big part of Icelandic culture, such a big part that is has reached UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Pools are places to relax, meet, and experience the country in a different way, both in the city and in the countryside.

I built Ofaní to help users keep track of pools they have visited, discover new places, and see how their friends are exploring Iceland's pool culture.

Whether your goal is to visit all the pools in the country, find new favourite spots, or simply remember where you've been, Ofaní is your companion on swimming trips around Iceland.

The app was built with a focus on the social aspect that swimming culture brings as well as being your trusted source on pricing, opening hours and the amenities the pool has to offer.

Utilising Flutter as a code base and Supabase for database the app was built over the Christmas holidays and promptly launched on the Apple app store, reaching 20+ downloads in the first week! The app will soon be available on the Google Play Store.

After collecting user feedback the app has already seen the release of it's first update and has many more to come!
