FIRST MONTHLY RECAP
September was all about new beginnings and progress. I started creating monthly cards, sent out my first professional proposal, developed my branding, and stayed focused on school, and became a Framer Creator. Building momentum for what’s next.
Playing Cards
This months playing card design was inspired to simplify playing rommy for new players and look good while doing it.
Main features I wanted to get across was showcasing how many points each card is worth as well as making the 2 card (wild card) visually distinct.
I decided to open for sales of this deck, more info on that is available at the link below.
App Work
App progress has dramatically decreased, which was to be expected with school starting up.
Limited focus has been put into FurnitureDB, wrapping up the final touches to the furniture detail page (definitely more to do but now it's in a state I am happy with). I am now going to focus on adding furniture pieces to make the site more appealing to new visitors of which there have been many.
I am somewhat interested in going back to develop the Rommy Tracker, with an increase in users (4 new counting end of last month). I am considering porting it over to FlutterFlow which might help with real time data using Supabase. This hopefully would also give me some better learning experience with FlutterFlow.
The TV Tracker continues to get shows, at the time of writing it has 19.451 shows and is currently on the year 1988. I have not been focusing on it, given that it will take a long time for it to catch up but I would love to release it to the app store eventually. I have stopped development on the PWA and switched to working on native mobile app. Read more about that here.
I have reworked Gizem's and I task tracker into a full blown app. It features the task and a map she made for me but I plan to integrate more fun and personal things. That has been such a fun change to create an app only dedicated for the two of us.
I have also been researching a bit on how to integrate payments into my apps so I can finally start making money on them.

Bernburg.is
This month I added FurnitureDB to the website.
I archived the Italy art history film and the Gelateria as I felt they were not up to my standards and I am trying to keep the project list not too crowded. With 8 new projects too be added I might be archiving more in the future.
I then have been playing around with how I can showcase my card collection as you can see above where I am highlighting the card of the month.
I also started creating custom components and experimenting more with grid layouts as I want to improve this site more.
I want to both make it more personal, for example by adding my card collection and as well as going more in depth with my projects and offer my self for hire.
Notion
I started using GTD again (Fancy todo list), it has been going great. The first week starting amazing but then I kind of lost track and tasks started piling up but I am getting it back under control. It's a fine balance of trying to figure out how much you can do in a day of your todo list while also balancing other things.
I also reworked the task tracker for bernburg.is to help me work smarter not harder when figuring out what to do an planning for this website.
I have a big list of things I want to do and change for Notion but finding the time to do it is always the hardest struggle.
Anello
I started developing new branding, one that feels more aligned with the goal, the vision and the look of Anello.
I also signed up for an Apple Developer Account so I can publish the new prototype that I am building in FlutterFlow to TestFlight, giving me and others the chance to try it out while I continue developing it. I am running into errors with that but trying to figure it out with FlutterFlow and Apple support.
We also applied for a grant to help with development costs. However I am doubtful the grant will be received as it was a rushed application.
Fresh Fades
This month I sent out my first professional proposal for app development.
Being approached by Femi to be a co-founder in his startup Fresh Fades as a tech lead was a honour. After taking a step back I didn't see the full potential in the project and wasn't 100% on board.
I offered him my services as a freelance developer. Which he responded positively to. After some back and forth to figure out the scope I set up a proposal for him with building the original version of the app. I haven't heard back but I am excited.
Cleaning Out My Closet
After coming back from my summer travels with a suitcase full of new clothes I need to make some extra space. So with the help of Gizem I went over my clothes and decided on what to sell.
I photographed everything and posted on Grailed. Three items have sold already netting me $344 before fees.
I still have a lot of clothes from Iceland still for sale and with the new clothes the total is up to 58 items for sale.
A problem with a lot of the clothes from Iceland is they needed to be verified but my grandparents took care of that for me helping me submit extra photos for verification.

School
Start of school has been going great. I have been making progress in the research phase of the design research project. Mid September I sent out a survey having received 100 answers.
We are currently working on a presentation due the 2nd of October. There we present the project as well as as two sites given by our professor. It will be the school directors final choice which one will be the site for the project.
I am also very enjoying my professional practice class, which is a branding class for your own personal brand. I already had a good jump start having designed most of my elements and having a concrete brand in place. However I am enjoying getting the opportunity to take a second look at that with a professional graphic designer. So far in that class I have slightly tweaked my logo and made a business card.

Framer Creator
A new side gig has been started in September. I have become a Framer Creator.
I started making components and templates for Framer and selling them.
I released three components in September. You have already seen all three in this monthly recap, those being the project hours chart, 3D card box and the flip card I used to showcase the cards.
Two templates are in the work, one for events / conferences and the other one I plan on reusing my proposal for Fresh Fades and adjusting it into a template.

What is up for October?
October is going to be a push-hard month.
I want to go full force into my studies and really advance with Anello. My planning is on hold a bit while I wait for Femi's reply regarding Fresh Fades, but in the meantime, I’m setting my focus on making progress wherever I can.
I also want to put more time into Framer Creator to build some extra income on the side. Overall, October feels like a month for big accomplishments, putting in the work and seeing results stack up.
But also leaving time for fun non digital activities. I want to go on more dates and enjoy the outside while the weather still allows.
